Throughout the year, in celebration of Salem Co-operative Bank’s 100-year anniversary, we have been collecting items for local organizations. This month we chose End 68 Hours of Hunger. There are approximately 68 hours between a free school lunch on Friday and a free school breakfast on Monday. End 68 helps to fill this void by packing bags on a weekly basis to send home with approximately 85 Salem children each Friday.
Between September 12th-16th, Salem Co-op employees brought in items to donate to End 68. Additionally, on Wednesday September 14th we hosted The Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours. We asked that guests bring in an item or make a monetary donation to add to our collection. Salem Co-operative Bank’s employees and guests of Business After Hours gathered over 20 shopping bags full of items as well as monetary donations, to help the cause.
Thank you to our employees and community business partners for your support and generosity.
