Salem Co-operative Bank on behalf of its philanthropic corporation, Salem Community Benefit, donated $5,000 to Off-Season Hoops Inc. to help fund their summer basketball camp.
Off-Season Hoops, Inc. is a three-day camp that offers so much more than basketball skills. This program, run by Patrick Costello, partnered with the Lawrence Boys & Girls Club and was open to girls between fourth to ninth grade. In addition to teaching these girls basketball skills, they learn some life lessons. Guest speakers present topics such as bullying, the dangers of social media, vaping, domestic violence, mental health, and nutrition.
Sarah Rastello and Kim Hackett brought popsicles to the kids and had the pleasure of presenting the “Big check” to the kids. Sarah also personally donated school supplies to each child. We are so happy to support such a great program.
